Film: How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
Running Time: 1hr 44mins
‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’, is the third and final in the ‘How to Train your Dragon’ trilogy and it doesn’t disappoint. We introduced Frankie to the first film on Netflix in a bid to guide his attention away from the three month reign of ‘Despicable Me’ on repeat and he was hooked on Hiccup and Toothless from that point onwards.
The main character Hiccup has the last night fury dragon, so he thinks, fondly named ‘Toothless’ who he rescued from dragon hunters in the first film. In the third the most evil dragon hunter, Grimmel the Grizzly, actively seeks to bring ‘Toothless’ in so he can reign as the ‘night fury killer’. In a bid to save Berk and his people, Hiccup sets off to find ‘The Hidden World’, where he hopes his people & dragons can live without threat of being hunted. But on their voyage to ‘The Hidden World’, Grimmel plays a secret weapon, a rare dragon ‘light fury’ who entices Toothless and distracts his mind leading him into Grimmel’s hands.
If you haven’t seen the first two films, you could go and see the third without the need for continuity, the film refers to the past and focuses on the plotline itself but you may find yourself asking questions. If you have Netflix, you’ll find the first on there and BBC recently showed the second if you have iPlayer.
I am not ashamed to say I had a tear (lots of tears, I’m pregnant ok!) towards the end of the film as we bid a final farewell to Toothless. The films are truly magical and I love the clever quips from the characters meaning that the parents can chuckle along to the innuendos without batting an eye to their little ones!
We watched ‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ at Cineworld, Harlow, The Queensgate Centre.
