After doing a free trial this morning at MyGym, Billericay, which is situated in the same building as Peapod Cafe I decided to treat us to some brunch!
I’ve been to PeaPod Cafe a few times in the past for lunch with friends and to grab a coffee in between viewings when working but I haven’t ate in there with Frankie as a fully fledged toddler, only when he was on pouches so I was interested to go back and see what they had to offer!
PeaPod Cafe pride themselves on being an independent family run ‘Wholefoods & Organic’ Cafe. They use unprocessed wholefoods and buy most of their fruit and vegetables from local farm shops & all eggs and meat free range. Peapod Cafe – About.
Their all day brunch menu is varied and has a lot of yummy options such as avo on toast, herby omelettes and much more. They also boast artisian bread and superfood smoothies on the menu.
They have a wide variety of Seasonal Sandwiches and additions including haloumi & sweet potato fries as well as a ‘Healthy Spotlight’ menu that sounds delicious! My favourites are Peapod’s Avo Toast and their Haloumi Skewers (which are usually on their Specials board)
The childrens menu is well catered for and excellently priced also for the portion size, presentation & variety of options. Frankie’s favourites are the Sausages on Sticks and the PeaPod Mini Jacket.
They also always have fresh cakes on show & their carrot cake is ALWAYS well received with a lovely latte!
The cafe itself is pastel coloured with little touches such as birdcage lanterns dotted about and they have a kids area with a toy kitchen, books, toys, dolls houses & other bits to keep the kids happy whilst you enjoy your meal!
PeaPod Cafe also offers alcohol as they do cater for events such as baby showers, christenings and parties. PeaPod Cafe – Celebrations
Although I’ve not had it myself their Afternoon Tea menu sounds and looks lovely! They do themes on days such as Mothers Day, Fathers Day & Easter also. PeaPod Cafe – Afternoon Tea
You can park just next to the MyGym and parking is free.
On this occasion I had PeaPod’s Avo Toast with a poached egg, a latte and a (big) slice of chocolate fudge cake & Frankie had Sausages on Sticks with beans, a ‘Rocks’ Organic Blackcurrant Fresh Fruit Squash & a little fairy cake for just under £20 (£19.20) which reflects the cost of the locally sourced and organic food served in the PeaPod Cafe & the taste and quality of the food!
The PeaPod Cafe is a great little cafe near Billericay Station, it is perfect for meeting up with your Mum friends and having brunch and a coffee whilst the kids play & we look forward to coming back for brunch again soon!
